A Lesson in Accountability: How David Learned Corporate Ownership

David was sharp, confident, and results-driven.
He knew how to lead meetings, present ideas, and deliver on deadlines—as long as nothing went wrong.

But when a project missed its target or a mistake surfaced, his default was to redirect the blame:

💭 Blame divides. Ownership unites.
💭 That true leadership is shown when things go wrong, not when everything goes right.

Using tools from the training, David practiced:

✅ Accepting responsibility without excuses
✅ Addressing team challenges collaboratively
✅ Creating a “what can I do differently next time?” mindset

The DISC-based assessment also showed he had a high Dominance (D) trait, which explained his drive to win—but also a tendency to dismiss emotions or context.

He began to balance that with empathy and reflection.

Today, David no longer points fingers—he raises his hand first.

When issues arise, he leads the conversation with:

“Here’s what I could have done better.”
“Let’s walk through this as a team.”
“Accountability starts with me.”

That shift didn’t make him weaker.
It made him stronger, more trusted, and more respected—as a leader others want to follow.
